Types of work offered

I work with 3 – 12 year old children and their educators and my courses evolve from much of the practical work I do in school and from children’s and teachers’ interests and needs, often related to current national issues as well as cutting edge research issues. I believe that in-service courses should entertain as well as educate .... there have been too many, “death by acetate sheets” courses! To this end, my days are a blend of theory and practice and they are planned, prepared and resourced to suit the children and teachers concerned.

  • Courses and conferences on aspects of literacy, mathematics and creativity at Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and 2
  • Reading and writing workshops
  • Bookmaking with children
  • Demonstration teaching, classroom organization and support
  • Planning for learning in the child centred classroom
  • Talks to parents and governors on literacy events to include book readings
  • In-service work with teaching assistants
  • World book day book related activities
