Writing from Reading

Writing from Reading

Picture story texts make an excellent starting point for children’s writing. They provide the stimulus and the model for many original, inventive ideas which can lead to book making. Make children into writers for real reason .... turn them into authors! Look at some of the book titles below which were used as stimuli for children’s writing plus the book covers of work done by children aged 3 – 11years old. All children like making books – it gives them a reason for their writing. Don’t forget to use popular culture texts too .... Bob the Builder, Pokemon, Harry Potter and others all have their part to play into motivating children to become writers.
